 Detail Normals

I added snowflakes to my snow texture with detail normals.

Final Renders

Some of my specular sparkle in the snow was lost throughout my process (something with unreal) as frustrating as it was I couldn't find a fix to go back to my earlier renders, as seen in my last post.

Extra credit:
I used detail normals on my snow to create a snow flake effect (although along with the specular it was washed away).

I also implemented vertex painting of snow onto my rocks and some of the trees.

Project 3

Alien in the Forest I'll be creating a forest scene with an ominous Alien waiting for those who approach *~spooky~* The alien orb/shell/exoskeleton  will be a iterative process as it will be my own creation. I will tackle it using zbrush for quick concept and design. The research component will be using Speedtree as the forest needs some trees and fast. I'll also experiment with it to create Foliage. Substance Designer will be used to create required environment textures.  The highlighted area represents a crater Forest Ground Textures Final Shots

Personal Project

Star Wars AT-AT For my personal project, I'll be recreating one of the most menacing vehicles seen on film. The AT-AT from Empire Strikes Back as seen on the planet Hoth.  I own a model that is accurate as can be to the film version that I will rely on heavily for proportions and some screen shots from the movies. I plan to incorporate a snow material I made last semester to create a simple landscape to place the AT-AT. 1st Week: Block out 2nd Week: finishing up the blockout and starting high poly. 3rd Week: finishing high poly and starting UVs' 4th Week: Texture / lighting / layout I can! Some simple block outs. High poly will come after. Week 2 Finished blocking out and started on high poly.  Several pieces are set for boolean (ZBrush) to create panels.  Update Week 3 Week 3 was busy with other assignments so I fell a bit behind schedule but have the upcoming week dedicated to finishing. ...
